Empowering Simcoe County Youth at SWCC

Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community? Look no further than Shak's World Community Centre (SWCC)! SWCC uses basketball, innovation, and mentorship as a bridge to youth employment, education, and training. As a youth-led urban community development project, SWCC tackles the underlying issues leading to youth addiction, homelessness, and mental health challenges. By creating a positive, inclusive, and diverse environment in the Downtown Core, SWCC encourages a stable and supportive environment for youth to take steps in defining and implementing direction in their lives.

We welcome youth from across Simcoe County between the ages of 7 and 17 to participate in our wide variety of drop-in programming like art, dance, yoga, chess, and 6-12-week basketball training programs. Our programming leads are all youth 29 years of age and under. At SWCC, we prioritize protecting BIPOC youth of the Simcoe County Area by providing them with a safe space to gather and grow relationships necessary for social and self-development.

If you're interested in getting involved, we invite you to learn more about our services and how you can contribute to our mission of empowering youth in Simcoe County. Whether you're interested in volunteering your time or supporting our programs financially, we welcome your participation in creating a positive and supportive community for youth in our area. Together, we can make a difference!
